Valencia welcome Real Betis to Mestalla on Tuesday night after beginning their 2026/27 La Liga campaign with a goalless draw against Celta Vigo.
Los Che produced very little attacking threat in their opener, finishing the match with an xG of only around 0.56, while Betis started with a narrow 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad. With neither side looking particularly suited to an open contest at this stage of the season, Asian Under 2.0 Goals at odds of 2.65 looks like an excellent value opportunity.
Prediction Summary
Our prediction: Valencia 0-1 Real Betis
Valencia remain difficult to beat at Mestalla, but their opening performance against Celta highlighted the lack of attacking creativity in Carlos Corberán’s side.
Betis have strengthened during the summer and look capable of edging a tight game, especially after adding players such as Troy Parrott, Fran García and Facundo Bernal. However, their recent away record suggests this may be more controlled than spectacular.
The Asian total gives us valuable protection: 0 or 1 total goal wins the bet, exactly 2 goals returns our stake, and only 3+ goals loses.
At 2.65, that is a very attractive price.

Match Preview
Valencia’s final season at Mestalla began with something of a damp squib.
A 0-0 draw against Celta Vigo extended their unbeaten La Liga sequence to five matches, but the performance itself offered relatively little encouragement from an attacking perspective.
Valencia generated an xG of only around 0.56 across the entire 90 minutes.
For a home match, that is extremely low.
It suggests that despite their improved results towards the end of last season, this remains a team that can struggle to consistently manufacture high-quality chances.
There is some encouragement in their home record.
Valencia have avoided defeat in 12 of their last 15 league fixtures at Mestalla, recording six victories and six draws, and playing here has clearly given them a stronger foundation than their away performances.
But the results have not necessarily been spectacular.
Their first priority under Carlos Corberán is often structure and control, and that could become particularly important against a talented Betis team.
There is another concerning trend.
Valencia have won just one of their last nine matches played during August, with three draws and five defeats.
They may therefore be happy to remain patient rather than turning Tuesday’s contest into an end-to-end affair.
Real Betis enter the game with three points already secured.
Manuel Pellegrini’s team opened their campaign with a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad, exactly the type of result that fits our expectation for this match.
Betis have also been active in the transfer market.
One of the most exciting additions is Troy Parrott, who has joined from AZ Alkmaar after an outstanding campaign in the Netherlands. He scored 31 times across all competitions last season and arrives as another high-level option for Pellegrini’s attack.
Fran García has joined from Real Madrid, while midfielder Facundo Bernal has arrived from Fluminense and Diego Conde from Villarreal. La Liga’s official transfer records confirm those additions.
That makes Betis an interesting side this season.
But stronger personnel does not automatically mean Tuesday becomes a high-scoring match.
Their recent away record is poor, with only one victory from their last eight competitive away matches, and a controlled approach at Mestalla would make sense.
Betis know Valencia can be difficult to beat here.
They do not need to force the game from minute one.
The first goal could become decisive.
That is why 0-1 Betis is my preferred scoreline.

Why Asian Under 2.0 Goals Makes Sense
The price is what makes this selection particularly interesting.
Under 2.0 Asian Goals at 2.65 works differently from a standard Under 2.5 bet.
If the game ends:
0-0, 1-0 or 0-1 → the bet wins.
If it ends:
1-1 or 2-0 → your stake is returned.
Only three or more total goals causes the bet to lose.
That protection is extremely valuable at odds of 2.65.
Valencia’s opening game is the most obvious piece of evidence.
They drew 0-0 against Celta and generated just 0.56 xG. There was very little evidence that they are suddenly going to become an aggressive attacking side three days later.
Betis’ opener also finished with only one goal.
They beat Real Sociedad 1-0.
So the two clubs enter this fixture having combined for:
2 matches
1 total goal scored
0 goals conceded
It is obviously a tiny sample at this stage of the season, but it matches the tactical profile.
Valencia are strong enough defensively at Mestalla to make Betis work for opportunities, yet their own attack may struggle to force the visitors into an open game.
Betis’ away record provides another reason for caution.
They have won only one of their last eight competitive away fixtures, meaning Pellegrini is unlikely to approach Mestalla recklessly.
There is also a strong chance of a long tactical opening period.
Neither side needs to chase the match early in the season, and if the score is 0-0 at half-time, our Asian Under position becomes extremely attractive.
Betis have the stronger squad and have recruited well enough for me to slightly favour them.
But 0-1 rather than 1-3 looks like the more realistic outcome.
At 2.65, Asian Under 2.0 is our best bet.

Team News
Valencia are monitoring Luis Rioja after he missed the opening draw against Celta.
Umar Sadiq should remain one of their primary attacking options and is particularly dangerous after half-time. Nine of his last ten goals have arrived after the interval, while his aerial strength gives Valencia another route when open-play chances are difficult to create.
Real Betis have more injury problems.
Giovani Lo Celso, Abde Ezzalzouli and Diego Conde are among the players whose availability has been questioned.
However, Pellegrini’s squad has been strengthened significantly.
Troy Parrott is the headline attacking arrival and gives Betis another proven goalscorer following his excellent season with AZ. Fran García adds quality on the left, while Facundo Bernal increases the midfield options.
Whether Parrott starts immediately remains to be seen after only recently completing his move.
Players to Watch
Umar Sadiq
Sadiq could be particularly relevant if this remains 0-0 deep into the match.
Nine of his last ten goals have arrived after half-time, and his heading ability offers Valencia a threat even if they create little through open play.
Rodrigo Riquelme
Riquelme scored Betis’ winning goal in the opening round and has developed an impressive habit of making his goals count.
His ability to decide close matches is especially relevant when our prediction is a narrow Betis victory.
Troy Parrott
Parrott is one of Betis’ most exciting summer additions.
The Irish striker scored 31 goals across all competitions last season for AZ Alkmaar, and his arrival gives Pellegrini another genuine penalty-box threat.
Fran García
The former Real Madrid full-back gives Betis more speed and quality from the left.
Against a Valencia team likely to remain compact, his ability to provide width could become important.
Head-to-Head
Recent history favours Real Betis.
Valencia have won only two of the last 13 meetings, with four draws and seven Betis victories.
There is one important qualification: both of Valencia’s victories came at Mestalla.
That illustrates why I prefer the goals market rather than simply backing Betis outright.
Valencia remain capable of making this very difficult at home.
Five of their last seven home matches have seen both teams score, but their opening performance against Celta looked considerably more conservative, while Betis have also begun with a 1-0 victory.
This could become a game where one moment decides everything.
Final Verdict
There are arguments for both sides.
Valencia have home advantage and remain difficult to beat at Mestalla, while Real Betis possess the stronger squad and have added several exciting players during the summer.
But the result market is not where I see the best value.
Valencia’s 0.56 xG against Celta is difficult to ignore.
They created very little in their opening match and now face a Betis side that also began the season with a controlled 1-0 result.
I expect another tactical contest with limited clear chances.
Betis may ultimately possess enough individual quality to nick it, particularly after strengthening their squad, but I would be surprised if this develops into a four or five-goal game.
The Asian line is particularly attractive because exactly two goals gives us our money back.
At odds of 2.65, that protection makes Asian Under 2.0 Goals our strongest betting angle.
The correct score prediction is Valencia 0-1 Real Betis.
